MARSH MOUNTAIN CONSORT

October 14, 2018

Marsh Mountain Consort will be providing service and special music of Luther’s German Mass plus other Renaissance and Baroque pieces.  Musicians include Daniel Muss, Lawrence Lipnik, Barbara Leighton, Daniel Rippe, Carol Muss, and Ruth Seib.  The community is welcome to attend.

Lawrence Lipnik has performed with many acclaimed early music ensembles from Anonymous 4 to Piffaro and is a founding member of the viol consort Parthenia and vocal ensemble Lionheart.  He has prepared an authoritative edition of Francesco Cavalli’s La Calisto, commissioned by the Juilliard School, served as gambist and recorder player in baroque opera productions including Wolf Trap and the New York City Opera and has served as Collegium Director at Amherst Early Music.

Daniel Rippe studied early music at the Peabody Conservatory and has performed on viola da gamba with the Folger Consort, the Washington Bach Consort, and the Richmond Symphony.  He lives in Baltimore where he teaches and edits publications of early music.

Daniel Muss, Carol Muss, Ruth Seib, and Barbara Leighton are members of Marsh Mountain Consort, a group of amateur musicians who especially enjoy playing music from the 16th century, the “heyday” of recorder and viola da gamba consorts.
