Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church
Offers Mid-Week Classes on
“Liturgy and Life”

Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church will offer a two-session course of study, “Liturgy and Life”. Led by Pastor Paul Blank, the sessions are a discussion on the meaning, logic, and profound significance of the liturgy for our lives as Christians. The classes will be held Wednesdays, February 8 & 15, at 7:00 p.m. at the church office, 21339 Garrett Highway, above Subway, entrance on the rear side of the building. All are welcome. Corporate worship is at the center of our life as the church , and as Lutherans we are committed to worshiping in accordance with the historic pattern established and developed by the church catholic. We call this pattern “the historic liturgy.” But as often as we engage the liturgy, many of us have little concept of its roots in the Bible or its profound connection with the Christian faith and the life of Christian discipleship to which we are called. The liturgy is not a rigid and unchanging entity! It has developed in accordance with the church's understanding of itself and its faith over the centuries. And it continues to evolve, not by the initiative of local congregations, but by consensus of the entire church.
